Embrace Self-Transformation: Unleashing the Power of Elul

00:05 - Rabbi Aryeh Wolbe (Host)
Welcome to the daily Shofar Inspiration.

00:09
You know, our sages tell us that every single year, the first week of Elul of this month, this holy month of mercy, of compassion, of closeness with the Almighty, always falls out on the portion of Shoftim, shoftim v'shotrim, which is judges and officers.

00:28
And our sages teach us what does that mean? That we should have judges and officers to make the laws and to enforce the laws. But our sages tell us that you know what that really means, and why it's coinciding with the beginning of the month of El is because that's what each and every one of us, as individuals should do in our personal life we should be judging ourselves and we should be officers over ourselves to ensure that the way in which we're living our lives is proper, that the way in which we're living our lives is up to the standard that we expect from ourselves, because we know deep inside how much we can really accomplish and how much we should be accomplishing, and perhaps how much we're falling short of our own expectations. This is a great time these 30 days between the beginning of Elul and Rosh Hashanah is to take the time to investigate ourselves and to look in, to introspect and to hopefully make a resolution that we move forward on a better path. Have an amazing, amazing month of inspiration and growth. Thank you.
